Tucker Hughes was elected 1st Vice President of the Montana Stockgrowers Association in December 2010. He previously served as 2nd Vice President from 2008-2010, and South Central District Director from 2004-2008. Tucker is a former chairman of the MSGA Membership Development and Services Committee.

Tucker is part of a family ranch company that is a commercial cow/calf operation in the Little Belt Mountains south of Stanford, Mont. His grandfather homesteaded south of Stanford in the late 1800s and the Hughes families are still on the land. He has been managing the ranch for around 40 years.

Tucker and his wife Jane have two sons, Ryan and Scott. Tucker and Scott’s families were featured on the “Last American Cowboy” TV show that aired on Animal Planet in 2010.

Tucker is very active in the beef industry and his local community. Tucker is a member and past president of the Judith Basin Stockgrowers. He is a Tax Committee member for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and has attended several national conventions as a committee member and voting delegate. Tucker is a Judith Basin County Commissioner, member of the Judith Basin Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the Judith Basin Endowment Fund, and member and past president of the Russell Country Tourism Board. Tucker previously served as Stanford School Board trustee and chairman and is a past member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minnesota Agriculture Advisory Council.
